Even a few years ago, female players were considered a rare phenomenon behind a poker table, but not any more. Nowadays, poker tables, poker championships or online poker rooms get to see many professional poker players in action, who are gentle and fragile women.
Do not let such delicate appearance full you, because these ladies are going to take all your money! Four years ago, Vicki Gross did not have a clue about how to play poker, but after her husband taught her, she became Arizona's best female poker player.
Gross plans to compete among 400 players in the inaugural Arizona State Ladies Poker Championship at Casino Arizona, Loop 101 and Indian Bend Road, which will take place on September 16. Women will play a No Limit Texas Holdem Tournament in order to win $40.000, a $7.000 diamond championship jewelry and a trophy.
Gross has won nearly $2.800 total in recent poker tournaments and she is hoping that luck and her skills will continue the magic at the upcoming poker championship. "I love the thrill of competing and the excitement of winning," Gross said. "Of course, the prize money is always nice. And the jewelry ain't bad, either!"
